Fallout 3 playthrough journalAugust 23, 2026 - New "Fallout 3" page documenting the millionth playthrough: session log, open questions and the running "what the f***" list.

Voting without an accountAugust 23, 2026 - Anyone can now give a post a thumbs up or thumbs down — no membership required.
- Each visitor still gets one vote per post, and members' existing votes stay tied to their account.
Administrator security logAugust 21, 2026 - Control Panel now shows administrator sign-in alerts, recent connections and failed sign-in totals.
- Failed sign-in attempts are recorded (throttled, no passwords stored) for review.
New Opinion categoryAugust 21, 2026 - Added a new post category: "Opinion" for editorials and takes on video games.
New category and HTML postsAugust 21, 2026 - Added a new post category: "Games & Random Fun".
- The administrator can now write posts using basic HTML (headings, lists, links, images, tables); unsafe markup is stripped before a post is shown.
Security audit and hardeningAugust 16, 2026 - Password recovery for the administrator account is now blocked on the server and in the database, not just hidden in the browser.
- Database permissions cut back to the minimum: recovery secrets, visitor records and the new security log are server-only.
- Usernames are now fixed after signup and validated, so nobody can rename themselves to impersonate a member.
- Added a private security event log (sign-ins, recovery attempts, password changes) that never stores secrets.
- Added throttling for password recovery by account and network, plus a 5-per-minute comment flood limit.
- Fixed the Latest Comments widget, which was failing to load.
Admin recovery passphrase restrictedAugust 16, 2026 - The GT_Central admin account can only set or change its recovery passphrase from inside the editor preview.
- On the live site the admin passphrase prompt and settings form are hidden.
Who's Online sidebar widgetAugust 16, 2026 - New sidebar box shows a live count of users logged in right now.
- Signed-in members appear as colour-coded avatars linking to their profiles.
- Guests browsing the site are counted separately.
Forgotten password recovery by secret passphraseAugust 16, 2026 - New members now choose a secret recovery passphrase when registering.
- Existing members get a one-off popup asking them to set a passphrase.
- New /forgot-password page resets your password once the passphrase is verified.
- Passphrases are hashed on the server, answers are time-levelled, and five wrong attempts lock recovery for 15 minutes.
- Members can change their passphrase from the Edit Profile page.
Blogroll replaced with Latest CommentsAugust 16, 2026 - Removed the Blogroll sidebar widget.
- Added a new 'Latest Comments' widget showing the most recent community activity across all posts.
Administrator statistics pageAugust 16, 2026 - New admin-only Site Statistics page showing visitors, registered accounts, posts, comments and reactions.

Game review scoresAugust 15, 2026 - Posts in the Game Reviews category can be given a 0-10 score in the control panel.
